If you’re interested in selling your jewelry online, here’s a free learning experience you may want to check out.
Christine Gierer of How to Make Jewelry is offering a free lesson series where you can follow along as she actually builds two types of online jewelry businesses from the ground up.
She’ll take you step-by-step through her strategies, and you can follow along and build your own online jewelry business at the same time.
Christine’s lesson plan involves using the cheapest, easiest tools possible to build two different types of jewelry selling websites while you watch.
If you follow along and do what she does, you have a good chance of getting results similar to hers.
Why is Christine building two websites for these lessons instead of one?
Because one is going to be a WordPress blog, and the other will be an SBI (SiteBuildIt) site.
SBI is the suite of online-business building tools that both Christine and I have used to build our own extremely successful websites.
The sites I’ve built with SBI are Home Jewelry Business Success Tips, Jewelry Display Ideas, and Making Jewelry Now. Christine’s How to Make Jewelry site is also done with SBI.
So I know that if you use the SBI system as it’s intended, you can get a lot of interested traffic and build a very successful online business.
Christine’s second option, WordPress, is the blog-building system I use here for my Jewelry Business Blog. It’s also a great system to use, with lots of professional features.
If you set out with a good plan, I know from experience that you can also do quite well with a WordPress blog.
The bottom line?
If you’re willing to follow Christine’s lessons closely and put in the work needed to succeed – I believe you’ll gain the skills and knowledge to plan, develop, and grow your own successful online jewelry business.

I have been getting Christine’s regular newsletter “I’m Making Jewelry in my Jam-Jams” newsletter for a while now and I also have her “Wire Work Secrets” book. She is great! I love the humor that she infuses into everthing she writes.
Thanks so much Rena! What a nice surprise to open your newsletter (Yes, I AM behind in my email. Again.) today and see my name in it! I guess I’ll have to deliver now (hope it works… no one has come forward saying they have proof of making a living entirely online from selling handmade jewelry).
If you’re one of Rena’s readers, let me tell you – Rena’s website is THE website that got me interested in SBI in the first place. So I owe Rena a debt of gratitude.
Thank you Rena
I would say We All owe Rena a huge debt of gratitude. Rena’s continued boost of encouragement is greatly valued by many, many home based jewelers!
Agreed! I wouldn’t have known where to even begin when I decided to start my business if it hadn’t been for Rena’s sites.
Since then, there have been many times over the years when I’ve been so frustrated or discouraged that I was ready to just throw in the towel and give up on my jewelry business, but then I’d read a new idea, success story, or piece of advice here that would completely renew my confidence and excitement.
So, thank you Rena! Without you and your contributors, my business would be nothing (if it even existed at all).

@Rachel again – thank you so much for your lovely feedback. It’s really wonderful to know that the ideas and tips have made such a difference! (And thanks also to all the generous jewelry folk who contribute their ideas, tips, advice, experiences, success stories, and photos!)
