Spilled Beads? Quick Pickup Trick

by Rena Klingenberg on August 27, 2007

Dropped beads can be difficult to pick up - and the smaller they are, the harder it is to get them all back!

Here’s a solution from Valerie of VG Jewels:

“A 3M-type lint roller for pet hair is excellent to pick up beads and small findings.

I had a spill the other day, and the roller worked great!”

Thanks, Valerie!

I use a thin sock over the vaccuum hose then turn it off when I have it over a bowl or something to hold the beads or what ever. The bowl allows for the removal of lint or other items picked up along with the beads.

just found this site - it’s absolutely brilliant. The carpet in my workshop is covered in tiny seed beads, spacers, bits of wire. Every couple of days, I tear off some wide carpet tape, roll it round my hands, and pat onto the carpet. The beads stick to the tape and you can just pick them off!
