Hi Shirley, yes, I've known a number of jewelry artists who hold their jewelry parties in their own home, and simply have the party "hostess" invite her guests to gather there.

It seems to work well, especially since it eliminates one of the most common issues that prevents people from hosting a jewelry party - it's not convenient to hold it in their own home for whatever reason.

I think your idea is fantastic, especially with your addition of foods prepared by a chef! Who could say no to that PLUS jewelry? :)

I wish you much success with holding your hostesses' jewelry parties in your home, and I'd love to hear how it goes for you!

Like Cheryl, I too am trying my hand at jewelry shows in my own home. I've done the craft shows, expos, and other good venues, but really hate all the packing up, setting up, taking down, hauling home of my jewelry. As you may guess from my website, I'm also a personal chef, so here's what I'm doing: Inviting friends to host a party at my home (they send the invitations on postcards I provide). I then provide snacks and beverages while they shop. It's a win-win. I'd love to hear from anyone else who has tried this, and their level of success. Thanks!

Thank you, Lyn!

I agree, seeing what Cheryl is up to always gets me off my behind and working on something new!

She's a very generous and motivational person - and her "Just Do It" outlook is contagious! :)
